Hej

I hope it is ok to do this post in English as my VVS Swedish is limited.

We have recently bought a house that has not been lived in for a few years, the heating system is a mixture of an old oil pannan acting as the water tank and a water/air heat pump. The system works pretty well but our radiators are running very hot, we have released the air twice as was our plumbers recommendation so I am thinking that the problem is with the shuntventil.

The shuntventil is missing its automatic adjuster but I can still adjust it myself.

I understand what the shuntventil does, I just want to know if "10" is open or closed? In other words, if the ventil is set to 10, is that the maximum amount of hot water coming from the boiler and if it is set to 1, is that just recirculating the existing water in the radiators. OR is it the other way around?

See attached picture.

Any recommendation to make our radiators cooler while retaining the hot water for the taps is welcome as we are struggling to find a plumber who has time to give the system a full service.

Replies in Swedish are fine of course!!

Thanks in advance.

According to this datasheet the scale 0-10 is translated to 0-100% warm water.
See the chart in the bottom right on page 1.

Great, thanks for the answer. Looks like the ventil is not working properly then. (y)

You have it on 0 in the picture and it's not stopping the hot water coming out of the pipe on the right?
