Dear all,
I hope it's okay to write in English, as I'm currently unable to write in Swedish. We're in the process of renovating our holiday home and are looking to improve the appearance of our stairs. The stairs are made of wood, and there's currently a layer of what I believe is vinyl flooring (vinyl floor?).
We're not happy with how it looks and are considering either painting it as a simple solution or replacing the vinyl with a different material if that's relatively easy. Our main priorities are safety (good grip), aesthetics and durability.
Do you have any suggestions please?
NOTE: I'm happy to use Google Translate if you feel more comfortable writing in Swedish! Including Swedish terms would also be very helpful. 😊
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any help you can offer!

I am just in the process of painting our wooden stairs. I used standard white paint for woodwork for all details except the horizontal surfaces. Only for the treats I used special floor paint (golvfärg) which is more expensive but hopefully more durable. Both paints have color code Y0502 which is a bit warmer than other whites.
The paint shop had a powder which can be mixed into the paint to increase grip. It must be the most expensive sand in the world. They has a painted sample and it had a quite dirty appearance so I left it in the shop.

Very interesting to mix the paint with the powder for increasing the grip! But maybe the 2 paints as you may do the trick for us right now!
