I have an IVT 490 heat pump and going away for 3 weeks, is it okay to turn off the heatpump for that period? The last time I had configured it to vacation mode but still, it consumed a hell lot of electricity, that's why I don't want to take any chances considering high electricity prices these days.

If you turn off your IVT 490, how would your house get heating enough not to freeze water pipes? You haven't consider lowering the temperature more than the vacation mode do by default?

Also, consider the living conditions when you get home after your vacation and you then have to warm up your house to normal again. It will cost and it will take some time.

Yeah, you're right I didn't think about that. As you suggested I am considering lowering the heat setting by offsetting the heat curve along with the vacation mode.
I think setting the heat curve to 1 or 2 will do the job.
